When New York acts, the world follows. There’s so much we can all do. Let’s meet the challenge of climate change and make it happen, NYC. Join us on Governors Island for Our Future Festival NYC, a day of talks, presentations, workshops, art, performances and discussion. Our focus is on New York and how we can all participate in preparing for a resilient future. Meet scientists, activists and artists. Experience Governors Island purpose-built climate resiliency and meet NYC’s climate leaders. Get involved. Be part of the movement for our future.

The New York City Metro Chapter of the Climate Reality Project and Human Impacts Institute in collaboration with the Trust for Governors Island present a daylong festival of events on Governors Island as part of Climate Week NYC 2019, Global Goals Week 2019 and concurrent with the UN Climate Action Summit 2019 . This groundbreaking event highlights local action and opportunities for New Yorkers of all ages to take climate action, and to show the world how we can all be part of the movement for change during this historic week.

The festival will feature informative talks and discussions by climate leaders, creative and fun workshops that spark curiosity and inspire belonging as it relates to our shared urban environment, climate-themed dance and theatrical performances, and much more. In addition, multiple organizations representing activism, the energy sector and climate education and communications will be stationed in Nolan Park throughout the day. And a series of guided tours and interactive walks will allow visitors the chance to explore and learn about Governors Island, from its urban farm to resilient new park, through the lens of climate change.
