London Plane “Smalltown Boy“ (A Refugee Song)

OUT NOW
Bronski Beat’s 1984 classic synth pop hit “Smalltown Boy” is re-imagined by NYC’s London Plane and producer Carlos Dengler (former bassist/keyboardist of Interpol)

Subtitled “A Refugee Song”, the original message of “Smalltown Boy” has been expanded to shine a light on the current plight of displaced peoples across the world who are caught in ongoing conflicts. London Plane’s approach to this long-adored song uncovers a darker, more sinister tone to the original.

“Smalltown Boy: A Refugee Song” emerges from the recording sessions for London Plane’s much-anticipated album “Villains Heroes Ghosts” due for release Summer, 2026. Based in NYC, the six-piece band is comprised of an international mix of members with a reputation for energetic live shows. “Villains Heroes Ghosts” marks former Interpol bassist Carlos Dengler’s emergence as a skilled and ascending producer.

Mike Cobb & The Crevulators “Bezos”

Mike Cobb and the Crevulators present “Bezos” – a new song that deals with the absurdity of late stage capitalism.

“Bezos” pokes fun at how we fail to see we’re not on the same boat, or spaceship, as billionaires, while humanity speeds towards environmental oblivion. With its AI-generated cover art and pointed lyrics, “Bezos” is a song made for our current crazy times

“What good is the pursuit of money if we’re destroying our planet?” “Earth is the only place we can call home. Let’s fix things here before bringing man-made problems into outer space!”
